Dragonfly is a fragrance diffuser developed around the idea of rethinking a familiar object. The project explores how a traditional reed diffuser could work without reeds, replacing them with a new capillary diffusion system while giving the object a more sculptural presence. Its form draws inspiration from the delicate balance of a dragonfly. A borosilicate glass vessel holds the fragrance, which travels through a capillary tube into a reticular sponge where it is gradually released into the air. The structure is built around three CNC-machined and precisely bent aluminium 6061 elements, completed by a reinforced ABS head. The project brings together product design, material research, prototyping and engineering to turn a simple fragrance diffuser into a functional object with its own identity.
